Moved on to a high torque servo rather than a stepper motor because the stepper motor was difficult to control and too little torque.

Gears were designed with a 27mm center distance even though the mounting holes for the bottom ring are 27.5mm apart.
|
|
This is to ensure the gears are not compressing each other.
|
|
|
|
The petals were given a gap so that they can slide even better between each other.
|
|
|
|
The center gear was made 3.3mm wide instead of 3mm so that the 3mm wide petals would better fit.
|
|
|
|
Added a small ring for the top cupling portion to increase structural integrity. |
