Gears were designed with exactly 27.5mm center distance.
Petal iterations addded a chamfered edge to allow one to sldie beneath the other.
Initially had a slide guide for the petals. However, upon first print, the guides were too small to be useful and the regular design worked well enough to disregard them.
Completed FEA on the whole system, putting 5N of drag on each petal.
After analyzing the results, I added a chamfer to the bottom edge of the petal where the flat drag portion connects to the gear.
Actually printed. The petals had to be scaled down 98% and the center gear was scaled down 95% because the gears were too large and were put in too much compression.
